Burrowing Owl
“Burrowing Owl and Flower”
The burrowing owl is a small, long-legged owl found throughout open landscapes of North and South America. Burrowing owls can be found in grasslands, rangelands, agricultural areas, deserts, or any other open dry area with low vegetation. They nest and roost in burrows, such as those excavated by prairie dogs.
European Starling
The European starling is about 8 inches long and has glossy black plumage with a metallic sheen, which is speckled with white at some times of year. The legs are pink and the bill is black in winter and yellow in summer. They builds their nest in a natural or artificial cavities in which four or five glossy, pale blue eggs are laid. Starlings eat a wide range of invertebrates, as well as seeds and fruit.
American Oystercatcher
The American Oystercatcher is a shore bird that is about 19” in length. It has black and white plumage and reddish orange bill. The American Oystercatcher eat mostly shellfish and marine worms.
